Peruvian-Italian artist Francesca Roncagliolo presents her last project this month in Madrid. Defined always personally and artistically by her continuous questioning of the established, this time her work milimetrically dissects the art world, from it´s smell, it´s shape or temperature to the category hierarchy that favours or damages the artist upon mere social social conventions.
In her resume there are plenty achievements since she completed her artistic studies between Lima, Vancouver and Madrid, Spain; city in which she lives since summer of 2001. Her work has been selected for different art prizes as XVI Edition de Circuitos de Artes Plásticas y Fotografía, by the Madrid Comunity, Catalonia Miquel Casablancas prize and the XII Edition of Shows 2004-2005, Centro de Arte Joven, Madrid, among others. Her work has been shown among different countries as Argentina, Chile, China, Perú, Australia, Spain and London, England.
Photography, Video, sculpture, net art and mainly painting (digital and traditional) have been the mediums chosen by this artist to give away her inner feelings. Now she presents us a new turning point, as usual in her work. She defines Hbrido, the project presented at the madrilenian La Boca del Lobo, in her own words as "a blog as an art project which is not the same that a blog about art or to show art. Hbrido is a meeting point between oil painting and blog-art. Painting, objects, text, quotes, thoughts and reflections are part of the same project, they are one body of work not to be understand separately. The paintings are the graphic document of the blog."
Should we fight against our feelings? Her life and work answers: we must force ourselves to keep fighting.
Hbrido the artist and it´s surroundings is online growing and evolving from months ago at www.hbrido.blogspot.com and since September 10th will be exposed at La Boca del Lobo( c/ Argumosa 11) in Madrid.
